Tilcon Quarry Tour, Wednesday June 22, 2022 at 6:30 P.PM
The Totoket Historical Society is sponsoring a bus tour of The Tilcon Quarry at the corner of Route 80 and 22 in North Branford on Wednesday, June 22 at 6:30 P.M. Stone from this quarry has played a vital role in building infrastructure throughout Connecticut. Don’t miss this opportunity to visit North Branford’s hidden “quarry treasure.” The 90 minute tour will give you a chance to ask questions of the Tilcon guides and walk around the floor of the quarry, weather permitting. It is an amazing operation hat you can only imagine when passing by on Route 80.
The cost of the tour is $30. For information and reservations call Nancy at 203-500-0267.
Checks, made payable to The Totoket Historical Society, Inc. should be mailed to P. O. Box 491, Northford, CT 06472. Reservations are confirmed only on receipt of payment.
Tour participants should arrive at Jerome Harrison School, 335 Foxon Road by 6:15 P.M. to check in. The busses will leave promptly at 6:30 . This is an experience that is interesting for both adults and children, so don’t miss out! Seats are limited and sell out early.

The Miller Barn will be open on the first Sunday of the month from 9 AM - 1 PM The Reynolds-Beers will be open at the same time for tours. |
The Museum, built in 2002, contains farm machinery and farm implements used in Northford/North Branford in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. Artifacts discovered in local archeological digs sponsored by the society are also located here.

The Little Red Schoolhouse will be open on the second Saturday of each month from May through October from 1-4 PM.

This one room schoolhouse, built in 1805, is the oldest schoolhouse in New Haven County and served the needs of local children for nearly one hundred years.
